Former president of the Indian cricket Board Sourav Ganguly is in the headlines of social media for the last couple of days for his statements and the developments in the same regard. Ganguly was asked to quit the post of president whereas his colleague and honorary secretary Jay Shah got support from the members letting him continue his second term in the Indian cricket Board.

Board didn’t come with any official or unofficial remark on the development but later on, Ganguly confronted the media and informed them about the whole issue.

Just a few days after the end of his stint with the Indian cricket Board, former veteran Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly decided to contest in the polls of the Cricket Association of Bengal.

Earlier, while talking about the end of his tenure on the Indian cricket Board, Ganguly said that he can’t be an administrator and go for something else.

“I have been an administrator and I will move on to something else. Whatever you do in life the best days are when you played for India. I have been president of BCCI and I will go on to do bigger things. You can't be a player forever, you can't be an administrator forever. It's been great doing both,” said Ganguly.

Although, fans found it as a ‘double standard’ from Ganguly as he is now targeting the presidentship of CAB. They took to Twitter for lashing out at him and called him a ‘power hungry.

Here’s how fans reacted to Sourav Ganguly’s decision of contesting the elections of CAB:

Notably, it was Ganguly who informed me about his next move of going into contention for the elections of president of the Cricket Association of Bengal.

“Yes, I will be contesting the CAB polls, I plan to file my nomination on October 22. I have been in CAB for five years and as per Lodha rules, I can continue for another four years,” said Ganguly.

Notably, Ganguly was the CAB president earlier for four years from 2015 to 2019 before he started his role as the president of the Indian cricket Board.
