At the end of the day, former India skipper Sunil Gavaskar spoke to the Indian bowler. The entire conversation happened in Jio Cinema. The 74-year-old made a comment that had the Indian bowler smiling and to an extent puzzled.

The 37-year-old will be playing his landmark 100th test for India in Dharamshala starting on 7th March. If India wins the 4th Test in Ranchi, they will claim yet another Test series win at home. It will be a cruel blow for Ben Stokes and all the hype around Baz-Ball that was created.

At the end of the 3rd Day’s play in Ranchi, Ravichandran Ashwin and Sunil Gavaskar had a chat. The conversation took place on Jio Cinema after the veteran bowler had picked yet another fifer in Test cricket to put India on top.

Sunil Gavaskar said “India wins tomorrow and you go to Dharamshala. I just hope that Rohit allows you to lead the team out to the field. That will be a good gesture. Wonderful honour for all that you’ve done for Indian Cricket”

This assertion had Ashwin puzzled and he replied “Sunny Bhai, you are being too generous. Thank you so much, I have no expectations out of all these things. I think I’m well past that but genuinely saying I’m enjoying every single moment that I am being with this team and the longer it lasts, I will be happy.”

Ravichandran Ashwin got his 500th Test wicket when he dismissed Zak Crawley in Rajkot on the 2nd day. At the end of the day, the veteran bowler had to rush back to Chennai to be with his mother who had taken ill.

It was thought that Ashwin would miss the rest of the series and pull out of the Rajkot Test. During the fourth and final day of the game, Ashwin came back to the ground. India’s apex cricket body had arranged a Chartered flight for him to get back to the stadium.
