Indian team has faced a major blow in the second of the three-match ODI series against Bangladesh as skipper Rohit Sharma has sustained an injury in his left thumb. It all happened when Rohit went into an attempt to take Bangla batter Anamul Haque’s catch in the slip. But he ended up injuring his hand in the process.

The 35-year-old was later sent to hospital for the further scans and check-ups. The news of Rohit’s injury was first broken by the Indian Cricket Board from their official Twitter handle.

“India Captain Rohit Sharma suffered a blow to his thumb while fielding in the 2nd ODI. The BCCI Medical Team assessed him. He has now gone for scans,” tweeted the Indian Cricket Board.

As some fans were concerned over Rohit’s situation and his injury whereas some as his hand was seen bleeding when left the field. But the haters and trolls found it as another opportunity to mock the Indian skipper. They went on to the extent of saying that he is spending more time with the injuries rather than captaining or batting for India.

Speaking of the match so far, on the back of a brilliant century from Mehidy Hasan Miraz and a 71-run knock from Mahmudullah helped the Bangladeshi team to post a decent total of 271 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 50 overs. Mehidy-Mahmudullah pair helped Bangladesh to recover from the miserable situation in the match when they lost six wickets only on the score of 69 runs.

While chasing the target of 272 runs, the Indians have scored 88 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20.4 overs so far. At the time this copy is being filled, Shreyas Iyer has scored 36 runs off 55 balls with three boundaries and a six to his name. Whereas all-rounder Axar Patel is accompanying Shreyas in the middle.

Now, India needs 184 runs off 29.2 overs to win the second ODI and level the series with a score line of 1-1 as they already running behind the hosts with a losing margin of 0-1.
