On 22 June 2023, Surrey took on Middlesex in the ongoing T20 Blast at the Oval. Surrey were looking for another win to strengthen their grip at the top two. While Middlesex were looking for their first win of the year. They came to this clash after losing all the first 10 games. Speaking of the match, Middlesex skipper Stephen Eskinazi won the toss and opted to bowl first.

For Surrey, Will Jacks and Laurie Evans came out to bat. They scored some quick runs for the first wicket as they scored 177 runs in 12.4 overs. Evans scored 85 runs off 37 balls, including nine fours and five sixes. But, Jacks played an astonishing knock as he scored 96 runs off 45 balls, including eight fours and seven sixes. Among those seven sixes, five came consecutively in the 11th over of their innings and seeing that, fans shared their views.

Speaking of that over, Luke Hollman came to bowl and Jacks fit five back-to-back sixes in the first five balls. In the last ball, he took a single as Hollman conceded 31 runs. The England international was roped in by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2023 for INR 3.2 Crores. But, he sustained a muscle injury while playing an ODI against Bangladesh. Hence, he got ruled out and the Kiwi international, Michael Bracewell replaced him. So, seeing that carnage, RCB fans were elated all over social media.  

Speaking of the match, Surrey scored 252 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Middlesex batters were on full song as they chased down the target with seven wickets and four balls in hand. Skipper Eskinazi scored 73 runs off 39 balls, including 13 fours and one six. Apart from him, Max Holden scored 68* runs off 35 balls, including nine fours and two sixes and Ryan Higgins also smashed 48 runs off 24 balls, including six fours and two sixes. Thus, Middlesex registered their first win of the season while it was the fourth loss of the season for Surrey.
