No matter how big or well renowned a cricketer is, at the end of the day, even he is a human being. This is despite them being worshipped by their fans. However, a special connection is often felt by players and their fans when they interact. Similarly, a recent video going viral on social media proved the same.

An internet user going by the name Mohammad Ather, who is apparently an ardent cricket fan, shared an emotional story of his late brother. His name was Zafar, who was diagnosed with lung cancer (4th stage). Ather recently posted an old video where former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar can be seen having a delightful conversation with his brother.

The legend assured Zafar that Tata's (where the patient was admitted) is the best hospital in Mumbai, and the doctors over there are top-class. Gavaskar then motivated him in Hindi and asked him to stay strong. He tells him to keep fighting.

“Par aap me dum hona chahiye, aap dum dikhayiye," said Sunil Gavaskar. Towards the end of the video, the former Indian batter was seen having a fun conversation with him. He also blessed the patient. It is to be noted that this video was shot in 2019 when India were touring New Zealand for a series, and the master was probably a part of the commentary team.

“TATA’s gave him 6 months but my brave brother fought for 18 months. Sunny Bhai’s motivational words certainly helped,” read Ather's caption. Zafar passed away on January 18, 2020, and his brother shared this heart-touching video on Twitter exactly two years later, in memory of him.

In the meanwhile, Gavaskar has recently given his opinion about India's next captain in the longest format of the game. He felt that the audacious wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant should lead India in whites. Post Virat Kohli's decision to step down as India's Test captain, BCCI are yet to announce his replacement.
