Senior Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is a part of the Chennai franchise in the Indian T20 League for the last 10 years since 2012. 10 years back, Chennai picked Jadeja in an amount of INR 20 Lakhs. At that moment, the franchise was very keen to add the all-rounder to their line-up. Since Jadeja is a part of the squad, Chennai has been the runner-up in 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2019 whereas they have won the tournament two times in 2018 and 2021.

But everything went south when there were reports of an alleged rift between senior all-rounder and the franchise. Notably, the 2022 edition went very rough for Chennai. Conundrum over captaincy was also there. As the regular skipper, MS Dhoni decided to quit from his duties just before the tournament.
Dhoni handed over the captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja. But unfortunately, Chennai lost six out of eight games in the 15th edition of the league.
