Pakistan will play their first match against the arch-rivals India on the 28th of August in a Group stage fixture. Both teams have already announced their squads for the tournament and gearing up to lock horns with each other in a high-voltage match during the continental tournament.

Apart from the action on the field, Babar has made it to the headlines for another reason. The 27-year-old interacted with the journalists during the pre-departure press conference. One of the journalists asked Babar about fatigue and injuries to the senior Pakistani cricketers and termed that as the cause of defeat against Sri Lanka in the second Test match.

Later on, it was the reply from the Lahore-born lad which left everyone stunned and thinking twice. It was precisely similar to the incident when former Indian skipper MS Dhoni interacted in a jolly manner with an Australian journalist a few years back.

I don't think we should limit ourselves to two formats - Babar Azam

Here’s a look at the conversation between the reporter and Babar Azam.

Journalist: You, Rizwan and Shaheen are the stars, pride of Pakistan cricket. Like we lost the second Test against Sri Lanka, kya aap ko nahi lagta ki hum depressed the, workload aap logo pe zyada tha? (Don't you think the players were depressed, the workload was more?) So won't it be a good idea if you people play only two formats?

Babar Azam: It depends on your fitness. Abhi jis tarha hamari fitness hai, abhi aisa socha nahi hai ki hum do format mein aa jaye. Aapko kya lagta hai main budha ho gaya hu? ya hum budhe ho gaye hai? (The kind of fitness that we have, I don't think we should limit ourselves to two formats. Do you think I have become old?)

Journalist: Load zyada par raha hai na (The workload is much more)

Babar Azam: I don't think so. Agar load zyada hai toh us hisab se fitness badhayange hum (If load is more then we will increase our fitness levels)
