All-rounders are a valuable asset in any format. Every team needs a player who can perform both roles. Besides, there have been a lot of legendary all-rounders to have played the game.

However, not all of them played the Indian T20 league as this T20 tournament only came into existence in 2008. There have been numerous occasions where experts have gone to explain hypothetical situations of former cricketers fetching big bucks in the Indian T20 league, if it were existing during their time. Ravi Shastri recently gave his view about the price he'd fetch in the auction if he were still playing

The legend was pretty confident that he would get at least INR 15 crore. It is to be noted that several Indian stalwarts like MS Dhoni aren't getting that much. Shastri was a hard-hitting batter who used to also bowl left-arm-spin.

“Comfortably in the 15 crore bracket. Comfortably! And captain of the side. No question. It's a no-brainer,” said Ravi Shastri, while speaking to ESPNCricinfo. As far as his career as a player is concerned, then Shastri made his international debut in 1981. Not only has he been a part of India's 1983 World Cup-winning campaign, but he was also a part of the Indian squad in the 1985 World Championship of Cricket, which the Asian side won.

Shastri has played 230 international games, and has scored 6938 runs. He has also picked 280 wickets. Thus, he felt that he would have fetched INR 15 crore if he were to go under the hammer during an Indian T20 league auction. Although Dhoni was earlier getting INR 15 crore for representing Chennai, the franchise retained him for INR 12 crore ahead of the 2022 mega auction.

Hence, according to Shastri's prediction, he would have got more than the legendary keeper-batter as well. In the meanwhile, Shastri's stint as India's head coach came to an end after the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. Under him, the Asian side reached the World Test Championship (WTC) Final, as well as the 2019 WC semi-final.
