Furthermore, talking about the entire action of the match, Pakistani batters were restricted by from posting a big total and forced to defend the target of only 138 runs in the 20 overs. Skipper Babar Azam played a knock of 32 runs alongside senior batter Shan Masoodโ€™s 38 runs. Young English all-rounder Sam Curran scalped three wickets only by conceding only 12 runs in his quota of four overs. Other than him, Adil Rashid and Chris Jordan also claimed two wickets each alongside one wicket taken by Ben Stokes.

While chasing the target, the three lions got an early blow only on the score of 7 runs when senior opening batter Alex Hales fell prey to the ace Pak speedster Shaheen Shah Afridi. Pakistani bowlers kept control of the England batters for some time in the match.

Eventually, England chased down the target of 138 runs in 19 overs and won the match by wickets to win their second title in the history of the 20-20 World Cup. Sam Curran won the โ€˜player of the match award for his match-winning performance in the final of the 20-20 World Cup 2022 in the favour of England.
