The entire cricketing fraternity is excited about the Final of the 20-20 World Cup 2022 between England and Pakistan to be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne. Meanwhile, the most discussed personality in the socio-political corridors currently, Rishi Sunak has also happened to take an interest in the game of cricket ahead of the title clash between Pakistan and England.

Both teams have made it to the final of the tournament after a troubled start in the beginning in the form of an upset and a rain-hit match against Ireland. On the other hand, Babar Azam-led Pakistan was on the verge of an early exit from the tournament following two successive defeats against India and Zimbabwe in at MCG and Perth stadiums respectively.

Coming back to Rishi Sunak’s tweet, he went on to back the three lions ahead of the big clash against the men in green in the 20-20 World Cup 2022.

“Good luck to England in the T20 World Cup final against Pakistan tomorrow. I’ll be cheering you on, along with every other cricket fan across the UK. We’re behind you all the way,” tweeted Sunak a day before the final between Pakistan and England.

Notably, the final has been started between England and Pakistan at the time of filling this copy. English skipper has won the toss and asked Babar’s men to don the pads first. Batting first, Pakistan has scored 9 runs for no loss in 1.2 overs so far.

England and Pakistan are facing each other in the final of a World Cup after 30 years since 1992 when Imran Khan-led Pakistan outplayed Graham Gooch’s English to win their first-ever title in the history of the World Cup.
