Lahore Qalandars will be mighty disappointed with their performance after failing to make it to the playoffs in the PSL 6. Qalandars, the runners-up of the previous edition, were one of the favourites for the title but their inconsistent performances meant they were knocked out of the T20 extravaganza in the league stage only. Despite having international players like Fakhar Zaman, Ben Dunk, Mohammad Hafeez, James Faulkner, Rashid Khan, Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf at their disposal, Lahore could only manage 5 wins in their 10 games and finished the season at the fifth spot.

“I told Rana brothers to sell me your team I’ll rename it as Lahore express and change the management. These owners and management aren’t serious about cricket, they are wasting the Lahore brand,” said Akhtar, as reported by Crickwick.

The team would hopefully come out strong next year, put in good performances which is expected from the franchise. Meanwhile, Islamabad United and Multan Sultans will clash in the first Qualifier on Monday while Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings will cross swords in the eliminator later in the day. The winner of the Qualifier 1 will progress to the final while the loser will face the winner of Peshawar Zalmi vs Karachi Kings in Qualifier 2 tomorrow.
