With league stages done and dusted, we now move into the business end of the tournament. After crossing swords in the final league game, Islamabad United and Multan Sultans will eye a berth in the final as they clash in Qualifier 1. Both teams clashed in the final league game of PSL 6 and Islamabad United trounced Multan Sultans by 4 wickets. On paper, there is little that separates the two teams. With Shan Masood, Mohammad Rizwan, Johnson Charles, Rilee Rossouw, Multan have a formidable batting lineup. However, the batsmen have not been consistent which is a big concern. All players need to come together if they are to stop the Islamabad’s juggernaut. The bowers have played a major role in Multan’s dominant run with Shahnawaz Dhani, Sohail Tanvir, Imran Tahir, Imran Khan bowling really well. If the batsmen click, the bowling is good enough to trouble any opposition.

Islamabad United, on the other hand, too have plenty of quality up their ranks. Usman Khawaja scored a hundred in his last innings, Colin Munro has also been consistent. Other players, including the likes of Asif Ali and Iftikhar Ahmed, have also chipped in. Hasan Ali, Akif Javed, Mohammad Wasim Jr., Fawad Ahmed forms a very good bowling lineup. As mentioned earlier, there is not a lot to choose in this match as both teams have enough firepower in their kitty and the match should be a crackerjack of the contest.

Pitch Report

The surface is slow in nature and batting isn’t the easiest task. A proper application will be required to fetch runs.
