'Poor fielding and slow running le dubi'- Richa Ghosh's heroics not enough as India Women suffer 11-run loss against England in 20-20 World Cup

In the highly anticipated match between India and England in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup, England emerged victorious by 11 runs, thanks to their strong batting performance and disciplined bowling.

England won the toss and elected to bat first, putting up a challenging total of 151/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Nat Sciver and Katherine Brunt were the top scorers for the team with 50 and 43 runs respectively. Amy Jones also played a crucial knock, scoring 40 off just 27 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes. Renuka Singh was the standout bowler for India, picking up five wickets in just four overs at an impressive economy rate of 3.75. However, despite her efforts, England's total proved to be too much for India to chase.

India got off to a shaky start in their chase as their star opener Shafali Verma got out cheaply. However, Smriti Mandhana, playing at number 3, provided some stability to the innings with a well-made half-century off 41 balls, including 7 fours and 1 six. It was Richa Ghosh who then took charge, playing a blistering knock of 47 off 34 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. However, the rest of the Indian batting lineup failed to support her, and they fell short of the target by 11 runs.

England's bowlers did a fine job of containing the Indian batters, with Sarah Glenn picking two and Sophie Ecclestone picking up one wicket. Despite the loss, India can take some positives from the match, especially the performance of their young players like Renuka Singh and Richa Ghosh.

England, on the other hand, will be pleased with their all-round performance and will be looking to carry this momentum into their next match. With this win, they have now moved to the top of their group and will be eyeing a spot in the semi-finals.
