During the campaign, the Delhi Capitals were the first club eliminated from the IPL playoff race. The Delhi-based team announced on social media that the team would be wearing a special shirt for their final home league game of the IPL 2023. The Delhi Capitals’ official Twitter account tweeted, “Ending our #IPL2023 campaign on a colourful note! Our boys will be donning these special threads in our last home match of the season at #QilaKotla!” The David Warner-led franchise struggled in the renowned, wealthy league and managed to score just ten points from five victories.

Notably, Delhi Capitals spent the majority of the 2023 Indian Premier League season in last place on the points standings. SunRisers Hyderabad also lost their chance to make the playoffs, joining them. Regarding the other clubs, the defending champion Gujarat Titans were the first to clinch a playoff spot. However, the remaining teams are giving it their all to reach the last four. Punjab Kings will play Rajasthan Royals in the 66th game of the Indian Premier League 2023 on May 19 at Dharamsala as this race continues.
Every year in the IPL, the Delhi Capitals (DC) once wear a unique rainbow shirt during their campaign. The jerseys are auctioned off after the game to raise money for the Vijayanagar, Karnataka-based Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS). IIS is the first privately-funded High-Performance Training Centre established by JSW Group for gifted young athletes competing in multiple Olympic sports.
