Babar Azam is currently busy in playing the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL). In this ongoing season, Babar has been doing the captaincy duties for Peshawar Zalmi. Currently, the franchise are in the fifth position with four points from five games. As an individual batter, he has scored 178 runs in five innings so far.

Now, he has registered his name for the Hundred tournament 2023. In the last edition in 2022, Babar Azam registered his name at the reserve price of £125,000. But, unfortunately, no teams showed any interest in the Pakistan skipper as the tournament clashed with Pakistan’s international commitments.

All eyes will be on Babar Azam as the draft is set to take place on 23 March 2023

The tournament will kick off on 1 August 2023 and it will run until 27 August. In the 2022 edition of the Men’s competition, Trent Rockets won the last edition. Apart from Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, and Mohammad Amir have also entered the draft. Earlier this month, Birmingham Phoenix retained the services of the Pakistan star all-rounder, Shadab Khan for £100k. He will be seen in action alongside players like Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, and Liam Livingstone for Phoenix. But, after going unsold in the last edition, reports came out that Babar was not willing to play in that tournament.

While talking to the News, A source said: “Babar Azam never applied for the NOC for the English summer. That means he is not interested despite being one of the few overseas who are bracketed among the top category. He could have walked easily in any team as every English county was looking forward to luring him. Yet he preferred to stay away from hectic commitments more in order to concentrate fully on the national summer commitment.” So, now after hearing the news that Babar has registered again for the upcoming edition, fans came up and shared their views on the social media platform.

Here is how fans have reacted to the news of Babar Azam registering himself for the Hundred 2023:
