Arshdeep Singh, the left-arm pacer, is fast becoming India’s trusted pacer and reasonably, he was the leading wicket-taker for the Men in Blue in the recently concluded 20-20 World Cup 2022 as the pacer managed to rack up 10 wickets to his name.

As things stand, Arshdeep, in an interview with Indian Express, opened up on haters and said that it was the right of the Indian fans to troll a player if they fail to deliver for the country. Saying that the player has to do well for the country if he gets selected, Arshdeep claimed that it was the same fans who praise them with all hearts if they do well. 

“People love us and our game a lot. So when we perform our best, people love us and when we don’t perform, people show their disappointment. So there is nothing like dealing with this. They express their emotions because we play for India and it’s the fans’ right to express their love or anger. We should accept both,” Arshdeep was quoted as saying in the interview with Indian Express. 

Fans recall Jasprit Bumrah’s statement

Taking cognizance of Arshdeep’s words, fans recalled the statement that Jasprit Bumrah came up with when he was ruled out due to injury. When the talented pacer was ruled out of the multinational tournament, Bumrah updated an Instagram story in which he shared Winston Churchill’s quotes. 

“You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks,” Bumrah posted Churchill’s quotes on his Instagram story earlier. Fans were disappointed with the same as they said that Bumrah must have refrained from using such quotes, given it takes a direct dig at fans who criticised him for his fitness. Comparing the same to Arshdeep’s words, fans said that the latter was far better with his words and lauded the youngster for his choice of words.
