The Indian T20 league 2022 has seen yet another COVID-19 scare. Earlier, Delhi's physio Patrick Farhart had tested positive for the deadly virus. Now, a player from the Rishabh Pant-led side has unfortunately tested positive as well. Several reports suggest it to be an overseas player.

The player has tested positive in the rapid antigen test and thus, he will have to undergo an RT-PCR test to confirm the same. The reports further suggest that the player is an all-rounder from Australia. Thus, Delhi have been asked to undergo quarantine. There will be door-to-door COVID-19 tests today, as well as tomorrow.
Due to this, they have cancelled their scheduled travel to Pune. It is to be noted that the Delhi-based franchise are scheduled to play Punjab on April 20 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association in Pune. The previous edition saw a similar case, and the second half had to be postponed. It was conducted after four months in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
"Delhi were supposed to travel to Pune today but the entire squad members have been told to retire to their respective rooms and as per protocol RT PCR is being done to ascertain whether there is an outbreak in the camp or it is an isolated case like Patrick Farhart," said a BCCI source, as quoted by The Times Of India. It has also been reported that another member has shown symptoms, but the RT-PCR tests are awaited.
"All teams are staying at Conrad Hotel in Pune where BCCI has created a bio-bubble. They were supposed to travel but now it has been delayed. Obviously all those whose results would be negative would carry on with onward journey tomorrow," the source added.
The COVID-19 scare at the Delhi camp isn't a good sign for the 2022 edition. A few more cases would cause a lot of unrest among several teams. As far as Delhi's upcoming game against Punjab is concerned, then there haven't been any updates about it being postponed.
