On 13 May 2023, Punjab Kings (PBKS) locked horns with Delhi Capitals (DC) in the ongoing IPL. The match took place in Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. But, during the match, an image went viral where Shikhar Dhawan was seen with PBKS cheerleaders. Seeing that image, fans came up with some funny replies.

Speaking about Dhawan, he was in action against DC. David Warner won the toss and asked PBKS to bat first. After the toss, Warner said: “We will have a bowl. It is going to be a slow, low surface, it is not going to change much. The last game was not a good one but winning 4 out of 5 was quite good. The boys have come out with a lot of freedom and a clear mind. The crowd has come out and supported us. We have got the same 16, Ripal goes out.”

While Dhawan said: “We would have bowled too but we are batting first, so looking forward to it. It is beautiful that they are putting up good performances. They are maturing and those are great signs. We have got one change – Raza comes back in and Rajapaksa misses out.” For PBKS, skipper Shikhar Dhawan and Prabhsimran Singh came out to open. But, Dhawan scored only seven runs off five balls. Hence, he has now scored 356 runs in nine matches, at an average of 50.86 in IPL 2023.

However, Prabhsimran Singh scored his maiden IPL ton as he smashed 103 runs off 65 balls, including 10 fours and six sixes. Apart from him, only Sam Curran came up with a contribution of 20 runs, and hence, PBKS scored 167 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs. For DC, Ishant Sharma took two wickets while Axar Patel, Praveen Dubey, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mukesh Kumar grabbed one wicket each. Then, for the chase, DC skipper David Warner came out to open with Phil Salt.
