Bangalore are playing exceedingly well in the ongoing edition of the Indian T20 League 2022. After losing the game against Chennai, Faf du Plessis and Co. bounced back strongly with a 16-run win over Delhi on Saturday. Bangalore now have four wins to their name in 6 matches and thus are sitting at the third position on the points table.

Riding on sensational knocks from Glenn Maxwell and Dinesh Karthik, Bangalore managed to score 189 runs in the first innings in that game. In reply, Delhi were restricted to only 173 runs in the second innings, thereby falling 16 runs short of the target.
Dinesh Karthik, once again, stole the limelight with another masterclass knock on Saturday. He came into bat when the team was in trouble at 92 for 5. However, Karthik then played a sensational 66-run knock off 34 balls to take the team to a winning score. Former Bangalore skipper, Virat Kohli, unfortunately, got run out in that match but he made his presence felt on the field by taking a stunner while standing at the cover region.
In the 17th over of the innings, Rishabh Pant smashed the ball over cover region, however, he couldn’t get the ball past Virat Kohli. The latter jumped to perfection to take a stunning catch and end Pant’s stay at the crease. His wicket saw the game turn completely in favour of Bangalore. After the game, Virat Kohli dedicated the catch to AB de Villiers, who is no longer a part of the game. For the unversed, the former South African cricketer retired from all forms of the game last year.
Dinesh Karthik and AB de Villiers both highlighted the absence of AB de Villiers and went on to say that two or three players combined are trying to fill the shoes of AB de Villiers in the team.
“Two or three people are trying to do what AB used to do for us all alone. My catch and Karthik's knock are dedicated to AB." Virat Kohli said.
AB de Villiers has left a great legacy for Bangalore in the Indian T20 League. He was a prolific run-scorer in the Indian T20 League. De Villiers scored 5162 runs in 184 matches at an average of under 40 and a strike rate of 151.68.
