Rishabh Pant, the Indian young wicketkeeper, met with an accident in the early hours on December 30, Friday and fans are hoping for the speedy recovery of the southpaw, given that photos of his wrecked car started doing rounds on the internet. The batter’s car collided with a divider at the highway in the Narsan border area, eventually catching fire after the collision.

As things stand, reports emerged from Jagran that claimed that the southpaw tried to come out of the car and a few of them looted his money as he lay down on the floor. To add more, the reports claimed that a few youngsters, who saw him laying on the floor, looted his money instead of asking him for assistance.

On the other hand, several reports are claiming that the southpaw is out of danger and sustained no fractures or internal injuries, much to the relief of the Indian cricket fans. Wishes for his recovery poured in from all ends, including the likes of Sam Billings, Suresh Raina, Ricky Ponting and Mohammed Shami.

Pant managed to come out of the car by breaking the front glass once the car caught fire and reports revealed that the batter called the ambulance all by himself. It remains to be seen if the Men in Blue would make a comeback at the earliest and the fans hope for presence in the 50-over World Cup set to take place in India in 2023. The batter was left out of India’s squad for the Sri Lanka series set to get underway on January 3 and one has to agree that 2022 ended way worse than Pant could have imagined.

Doctors claim that Pant managed to escape without fractures and one would hope for his roaring presence with pads in the field at the earliest. With not many runs under his belt this year, Pant’s return would take more time than expected, given that his participation in competitive cricket in 2023 remains doubtful for now.
