The Melbourne Cricket Ground has shown this interest in hosting this match on the grounds of the success they enjoyed at the time of the T20I clash between India and Pakistan during the 20-20 World Cup 2022.

The report published by ESPNcricinfo understands that the MCC and the government of Victoria have approached Cricket Australia regarding the same.

Chief Executive of MCC, Stuart Fox has also talked with SEN Radio about the possibilities of an Indo-Pak clash at a neutral venue and that too at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Here's what Stuart Fox Said about the possibilities of an Indo-Pak Test at Melbourne Cricket Ground

"Absolutely. Three in a row would be lovely at the MCG. You'd fill it every time. We have asked. We've taken that up with Cricket Australia. I know the government has as well. Again, it's enormously complicated from what I can understand, amongst a really busy schedule. So, I think that's probably the greater challenge,” said Fox to SEN Radio.

"Hopefully, Cricket Australia keep taking it up with the ICC and keep pushing for it. When you do see some of the stadiums around the world unoccupied, I think it would be much better to have a full house and that atmosphere and celebrate the game with full houses,” he added later.

Notably, India and Pakistan played the last Test match against each other 15 years back in the year 2007 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru from 8th to 12th December 2007. The hosts India won the three-match series with a margin of 1-0 on the back of a six-wicket win in the first of the three-match series played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Former Indian skipper and batter Sourav Ganguly won the ‘player of the series award as he finished the series as the leading run-scorer among the batters of both India and Pakistan.
