Mumbai Indians batter Suryakumar Yadav is having a bad patch with the bat since the ODI series against Australia. In the three-match ODI series, he bagged three consecutive golden ducks. In the ongoing IPL 2023, he has managed only 16 runs in the first two games, with 15 coming against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Meanwhile, in the ongoing game against Chennai Super Kings, Yadav lost his wicket after scoring one run.

The right-hander tried to play a sweep shot against Mitchell Santner. The former came out to bat when Ishan Kishan was caught by Dwaine Pretorious off Ravindra Jadeja in the seventh over. In the next over, SKY tried to play his bread and butter shot, i.e sweep shot. Most times, he would have nailed the shot for a boundary. However, the Mumbaikar was caught down the leg side.

The fans are criticizing Yadav, who has been failing with the bat in recent times.

Mumbai Indians have set a target of 158 for Chennai Super Kings

Meanwhile, in the game, CSK won the toss and elected to field first. The home team, MI had a great start as opening, skipper Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan provided an explosive start. However, after their wickets fell, the Super Kings spinners, Mitchell Santner, and Ravindra Jadeja seized control as they picked wickets in the middle overs.

From 64/2, the team was reduced to 131/8. Tim David's cameo helped the team reaching 157/8 at the end of the innings.
