Popular India batter Suryakumar Yadav enjoys driving sports vehicles; he recently made it clear that he no longer owns the Nissan 1 Ton he purchased last year. A random Instagram user had tagged him in a video with the caption, "Other cricketers – buys a swanky new SUV. Meanwhile, SKY – Rolls in his Nissan 1 Ton."

Reacting to the tag, Yadav clarified, hinting at plans for a new vehicle, "Sorry guys, not mine anymore. Don't tag me when you see it. But stay tuned for something crazy." For those unaware, the Indian Armed Forces (IAF) operated the Nissan 1 Ton, also known as the Jonga, between 1969 and 1999. On indiamart.com, the car costs about Rs 12 lakh. Among Cricketers, Yadav is not the only one to drive an ex-Army car. MS Dhoni, the captain of the Chennai franchise in the Indian T20 League, also owns a 1970 Land Rover Series 3.

Mumbai retained Suryakumar Yadav for ITL 2023

With Rs 8 crore, Mumbai decided to keep Suryakumar Yadav on for the upcoming season of the Indian T20 League (ITL). After a forgettable stretch in the just-finished three-match ODI series against Australia, the right-hander will seek to get back to scoring runs. After the famous Sachin Tendulkar in 1994, the 32-year-old specialist hitter set an unfortunate record by recording three straight golden ducks.

But, Yadav has been an essential part of Mumbai's ITL aspirations. At the previous tournament, he scored 303 runs in eight games with a strike rate of 145.67, including three half-centuries. In 123 ITL games, he has scored 2644 runs overall, averaging 30.39.

Yadav will now try to aid Mumbai in winning their sixth ITL championship this year after being named the T20I Player of the Year 2022. After finishing 10th last season with just four victories in 14 games, the team will try to return to winning this year. On Sunday, April 2, Suryakumar Yadav will next be in action at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium against the Bangalore Franchise.
