The next edition of the Indian T20 League is going to kick off on 31 March 2023. The defending champions, the Gujarat franchise will take on the Chennai franchise at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on the opening day. All teams are currently preparing for the tournament while reports have come out that Jay Shah will unveil the new jersey for the Lucknow franchise on 7 March.

Jay Shah is the secretary of the Indian Cricket Board and the president of the Asian Cricket Council. So, fans were confused to see such reports as they were not understanding the association of Shah with the franchise. Hence, they came up and shared their views on social media.

Jay Shah was happy after the Guinness World Record for the largest attendance in the final of the Indian T20 League 2022

In the last edition of the tournament, the final took place in Ahmedabad. 101,566 people witnessed the epic final at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Thus, they received the Guinness World Record for the largest attendance at a T20 match. Jay Shah was happy as he tweeted: "A proud moment for everyone as India creates the Guinness World Record. This one is for all our fans for their unmatched passion and unwavering support. Congratulations to @GCAMotera and @Indian T20 League".

He further tweeted: "Extremely delighted & proud to receive the Guinness World Record for the largest attendance at a T20 match when 101,566 people witnessed the epic @Indian T20 League final at @GCAMotera's magnificent Narendra Modi Stadium on 29 May 2022. A big thanks to our fans for making this possible! @Indian Cricket Board". Speaking about the upcoming Indian T20 League edition, it will run until 28 May 2023. 

Two groups have been considered. Mumbai, Kolkata, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Lucknow are in the Group A. On the other hand, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Punjab, and Gujarat are in Group B. The 12 selected venues are Ahmedabad, Mohali, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Jaipur, Mumbai, Guwahati, and Dharamsala.
