On 5 March 2023, the Bangalore franchise took on Delhi in the second match of the Women’s T20 League. All eyes were on Smriti Mandhana and her star-studded franchise as fans were hoping for a blistering start from them. Ahead of the clash against Delhi, Mandhana said that the first game will be a huge one for them.

While talking to reporters, the Bangalore skipper said: “Well yeah, definitely a big moment for I think all of us including all the overseas (players) as well because it is first ever WPL match. We have been part of teams where we have played in pressure situations. One thing we always tell and that is the one thing that we have to go and enjoy and have each other’s back.”
