Although there was something else that went viral over social media apart from the action of the match; it was none other than the former Indian head coach and currently, the broadcaster, Ravi Shastri who happened to address Gujarat’s team with their old franchise name at the time of toss. This mistake also compelled the hosts’ skipper Hardik Pandya to pass smile at the moment.

Subsequently, this small but hilarious mistake from Shastri went viral over social media and a section of Indian cricket fans couldn’t resist coming up with some interesting and witty reactions or responses on the micro-blogging site Twitter.

Here’s how fans reacted:

Speaking of the match at the moment, Chennai have lost their three wickets on a total score of 70 runs in 7.4 overs. At the time of filling this copy, the star all-rounder Ben Stokes just fell prey to Gujarat’s spin sensation Rashid Khan on the fourth ball of the over. Opener Ruturaj Gaikwad was there in the middle on the individual scores of 37 and 1 run respectively.

Rashid Khan has scalped two wickets in 1.4 overs by conceding only 11 runs so far. Notably, this year’s edition is being played with a few new rules including one of them an ‘impact player’ rule which will be seen in the tournament for the first time in its 15-year-long history.

Apart from that, the tournament is also back in its old home-and-away format after a gap of three years due to the covid breakdown across the world and India as well.
