Indian young cricketer Prithvi Shaw, who is currently running out of the Indian team, has finally got some relief as a stunning disclosure has been made about him. The Mumbai Police has informed a local court that Sapna Gill's claims that Shaw molested her in a pub in Mumbai's district of Andheri are "false and baseless." On Monday, the Investigating Officer presented a report in this regard before the magistrate who was hearing the case.
Gill had brought charges against Shaw and his friend Ashish Yadav under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 354 (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 509 (word, gesture, or act intended to outrage a woman's modesty) as well as section 324 (voluntarily inflicting harm with dangerous weapons or other means). The Mumbai Police did not discover any evidence to support Shaw, though.
“There is no evidence to support the accusation of molestation for misbehaviour against Shaw and Gill’s allegation is false. The staffer said that when they were being escorted out, he heard Gill say that “dekh ab main uski kya halat karti hoon” (Now, see what I will do to him). They then left. After half an hour, Shaw and his friends left too. The staffer said that Shaw had not misbehaved with Gill at all on February 15.” Mumbai Police was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
Shaw tried to stop them to record his video
According to the influencer, Shaw allegedly tried to hit her with a bat in February. Meanwhile, a review of the pub's CCTV footage revealed that Gill and her friend Shobit Thakur were dancing while intoxicated. The cricketer allegedly prevented Thakur from filming Shaw with his phone when the latter tried to do so. According to the police, reviewing the video, it does not seem as though Shaw and the other people sexually assaulted Gill in any way.
“They saw that the front windshield of Shaw’s car was broken, and they had seen Gill with a baseball bat in her hand,” the police stated in their report.
