MS Dhoni is probably one of the most loved cricketers of all time. Irrespective of his form, his fans always admire him. Dhoni has not been in the best of form in the last few years and it's clearly evident that he is way past his prime. However, every now and then he turns back the clock and refreshes the memories of Dhoni of old.

The first match of the Indian T20 league 2022 saw a vintage Dhoni. Although Chennai lost the match, it was the keeper-batter who grabbed the headlines. His stature is so big, that he is the taking point of the game and not the winning team.

Dhoni was superb as he scored an unbeaten 50 off just 38 balls. Despite the fact that Chennai were having a batting collapse, he kept his calm and showed everyone why he's considered as one of the greatest players of all time. It is to be noted that his knock consisted of seven fours and a six.

Contrary to his critics, he barely wasted any balls as his strike rate in this innings was 131.58. It was his monumental effort that ensured that the yellow army get to a respectable total. The fact that he came to bat when Chennai were 61-5 makes his knock even better.

Dhoni playing like the past is a huge positive as Chennai would need quick runs towards the end of the innings. Nevertheless, Kolkata still ended up winning the game. They managed to chase 132 with nine balls to spare.
