Shubman Gill recently was an integral part of Team India that lost against Australia in the World Test Championship (WTC) final at the Oval. He came to this clash after a fantastic IPL 2023 for Gujarat Titans (GT) as Gill won the Orange Cap for scoring 890 runs in 17 matches. But, in the final, he scored 13 runs in the first innings while managing 18 runs in the second innings.

But, now, an image has gone viral where Gill was seen with the number seven jersey of PSG as the club gifted him. The star batter visited the home ground of the French club. Seeing that fans shared their views. However, Gill is known for supporting the English Premier League club, Chelsea FC.

But, during a chat with ESPNCricinfo in 2019, Gill opened up about the sportsperson that he has admired outside of cricket. He took the name of Neymar Jr and claimed that he likes him a lot. Recently, Gill was seen sharing photos with ManCity players after the EPL club completed Treble this season. He met with Kevin de Bruyne and Erling Haaland. However, PSG shared a tweet over the visit of Gill at their home ground and he also shared message. They shared the tweet with a caption: “Namaste dosto, here’s India’s favorite cricketer and PSG fan @ShubmanGill at Parc des Princes.” 

Then, Gill said: “Hi everyone, this is Shubman Gill here. I want to thank everyone at PSG for having me and Ici c’est Paris!” Shubman Gill failed to score big runs in the WTC final. But, he got fined 15% for having a dig at the umpire’s decision over his dismissal in the second innings on social media. Gill got out in a controversial manner as Green took a catch where the ball was very close to the ground. Still, the third umpire gave him out and it did not go well with him. However, the whole team got fined 100% of their match fees for slow over-rate.
