‘Khatiya khadi kar di…’ - Amitabh Bachchan congratulates India Women’s Under-19 team for winning 20-20 World Cup

On 29 January 2023, India Women’s team had a chance to win the first edition of the Under-19 20-20 World Cup title. They took on England in Potchefstroom. However, they did not disappoint their fans as India Women’s team made history by winning the title. It was the first-ever major title in the history of Women’s cricket in India.

After such a historical achievement, the Indian Cricket Board’s secretary, Jay Shah announced a hefty cash prize money for all the players and support staff. Now, the veteran Bollywood actor, Amitabh Bachchan shared a tweet to appreciate the effort from the players. Now, that tweet has gone viral as fans found it interesting.

INDIA.” Fans found the tweet interesting as that has now gone viral. India won the final by six wickets.

Now, regarding that victory, Jay Shah tweeted: “Women’s Cricket in India is on the upswing and the World Cup triumph has taken the stature of women’s cricket several notches higher. I am delighted to announce INR 5 crore for the entire team and support staff as prize money. This is surely a path-breaking year. I invite @TheShafaliVerma and her victorious team to join us at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad and witness the third T20I on 1st February. This humongous achievement surely calls for a celebration.”

“Kudos to the India U19 team for winning the #U1920-20WorldCup.This is a phenomenal achievement as our young cricketers have made the country proud. That the young players weren’t overawed by the big occasion speaks volumes about their steely characters and temperament,” Jay Shah concluded. Titas Sadhu won the player of the match award for her top bowling performance. She took two wickets for six runs in four overs.
