With the help of the all-around performance of Jess Jonassen Delhi Women's team beat UP by 42 runs in the fifth game of the ongoing Women's T20 League. Tahila McGrath's fighting 90 runs failed to save UP from a humiliating defeat. This is Delhi's second win in as many games and they are now second on the points table.

Earlier after winning the Toss UP decided to bowl first and the decision didn't go well with the team. Putting to bat first Delhi started very well as they scored 67 runs for the first Wicket. Captain Meg Lanning along with Shafali Verma added 67 runs in 6.3 overs before Shafali was dismissed by McGrath. Lanning scored 70 runs off 42 balls with the help of ten 4s and three 6s.

Jemimah Rodrigues then added a crucial 67-run stand in 37 balls with Jonassen, as Delhi breached the 200-run mark for the second time in a row. Jemimah scored 34 off 22 balls while Jonassen scored fiery 42 runs off 20 balls with the help of 3 fours and as many as 6s.

Tahila McGrath's amazing innings failed to rescue UP

In response, UP enjoyed a decent start but continued to lose wickets frequently and only managed to get 169/5 runs in 20 overs. However, allrounder Tahila McGrath put up a strong fight, scoring an unbroken 90 off 50 balls. It is the highest individual score in the Women's T20 League till now.

Although, she received no assistance from her teammates so UP succumbed to Delhi. After defeating Gujarat Titans in their previous match, this was UP's first loss in the tournament. On the other hand, this is Delhi's second victory in as many games and they are now set to face Mumbai on Thursday. Meanwhile, fans react to Delhi's dominating performance as they beat UP.
