On 12 May 2023, Mumbai Indians (MI) took on Gujarat Titans (GT) in the ongoing IPL. However, MI managed to win the game at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai and Suryalumar Yadav won the Player of the Match award. He scored his maiden IPL ton and smashed 103* runs off 49 balls, including 11 fours and six sixes.

After the match, LSG also shared an image of ‘Surya Namaskar’ which is known as a practice in yoga. This exercise manages a flow sequence of some twelve gracefully linked asanas. Seeing that viral tweets, fans went crazy and shared their views on social media. But, some LSG fans also reminded the franchise that MI are going to face them only in their next match.

After a poor start to the season, this MI batter has been in terrific form in the recent clashes. In 12 matches, he has now scored 479 runs, at an average of 43.54 and a strike rate of 190.83. Now, he is in the third position in the race for the Orange Cap this year.

After the clash during the post-match presentation, Suryakumar Yadav said: "Can say that . Most importantly we batted first, at the meeting we decided we'll keep the same tempo as we do when we're chasing 200 plus. There was a lot of dew even after just 7-8 overs, one side was 75-80 metres, so I was prepared for scooping over third man or flicking over square leg. I wasn't thinking of going straight. There's a lot of practice that goes behind , so when I come out to the middle, I am very clear in my mind."

The MI skipper, Rohit Sharma added: “Honestly, it's just the confidence Surya has got. Good thing is every game he's wanting to start fresh. Which is nice for a cricketer to think like that. Sometimes you can sit back and be very proud about it, but that's not the case with him.”
