The stage was set for the kick-off of the Legends League Cricket Masters on 10 March 2023. India Maharajas locked horns with Asia Lions in Doha in the tournament opener. Gautam Gambhir was the skipper of Maharajas while Shahid Afridi was leading the Asia Lions. Fans were also excited to see so many former players in action again on the cricket field.

However, Afridi led his team to a nine-run victory and after that, a video has now gone viral. Shahid Afridi was seen giving a pat on Harbhajan Singh’s head. Then, he got involved in an awkward situation as the former Pakistan skipper was approaching for a hug the woman umpire. But, he quickly realized and opted out. Fans did not miss it and they came up with some funny tweets on social media.

Speaking of the match, Afridi won the toss and opted to bat first. For them, Upul Tharanga and Tillakartne Dilshan came out as the openers. But, Dilshan failed cheaply as he scored just five runs off six balls. Then, Misbah-ul-Haq played an outstanding knock as he scored 73 runs off 50 balls. Shahid Afridi managed only 12 runs off eight balls, including two fours. Thus, they put up a score of 165 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. For India Maharajas, Stuart Binny and Parvinder Awana took two wickets each. 

But, in reply, India Maharajas scored just 156 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs and thus, Shahid Afridi led his side to a nine-run victory. For Maharajas, the skipper Gautam Gambhir scored 54 runs off 39 balls, including seven fours. For the Lions, Sohail Tanvir took three wickets for 27 runs in four overs. Misbah-ul-Haq won the player of the match award for his knock in the tournament opener.
