The Legends League Cricket Masters kicked off on 10 March 2023. India Maharajas took on Aisa Lions in Doha. But, fans were waiting for the clash as Gautam Gambhir was the captain for Maharajas while Shahid Afridi was the captain of the Lions. Both these cricketers have a brief history since their playing days against each other.

It all started as they got involved in a heated exchange in an ODI game in 2007. Even, in recent times also, they come up with some comments while taking a dig at each other. So, everyone was eager to see them as they came out for the toss. Afridi won the toss but after that, he shared an awkward handshake with Gambhir. Hence, that image has now gone viral and fans have come out with some priceless comments.

Speaking of the match, Asia Lions opted to bat first, and for them, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Upul Tharanaga came out to bat. Dilshan scored just five runs and Tharanaga managed to score 40 runs off 39 balls. Misbah-ul-Haq was the star of the show for them as he scored 73 runs off 50 balls. He smashed two fours and four sixes as Misbah reminded his fans of his old days. Thus, the Lions scored 165 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. For Maharajas, Stuart Binny and Parvinder Awana took two wickets each while Irfan Pathan and Ashok Dinda took one wicket each. 

Shahid Afridi failed to score big as he managed only 12 runs off eight balls, including two boundaries. For India Maharajas, skipper Gautam Gambhir and Robin Utthapa came out to bat. But, they failed to chase the target down as they managed only 156 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. Gambhir scored 54 runs off 39 balls, including seven boundaries. Apart from him, some batters like Raina, and Murali Vijay came up with some contributions. Thus, Shahid Afridi led his team to victory by a margin of nine runs.
