In this match, the bat of Mumbai's star batter and expert at playing 360-degree shots on the field, Suryakumar Yadav, played fiercely. He scored the highest 83 runs in just 35 balls at a strike rate of 237.14 with the help of 7 fours and 6 breathtaking sixes and brought the five-time champions closer to victory. Seeing his performance against Bangalore, former President of the Indian Cricket Board and former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly praised Suryakumar and compared him with batters from all over the world.

He heaped praise on Suryakumar and said that he is the best T20 player in the world. He further said that when he keeps batting on the field, it seems that he is batting on the computer. Apart from this, even after facing defeat against the Rohit Sharma-led team, RCB captain Faf du Plessis also became a fan of his batting. He also praised Surya and said, "Suryakumar is one of the best, when he gets going, it's difficult to shut him down."

In the 16th season of IPL, Suryakumar's bat was not able to perform much, but as the tournament progressed, his bat also started talking in the same way. Suryakumar played an inning of 83 runs against Bangalore. This is his biggest score of the current season so far and this is his fourth half-century in the current season. Earlier, he had scored 66 against Punjab Kings in Mohali, 55 against Rajasthan Royals at home, and 57 against Punjab Kings at home.

Interestingly, Suryakumar entered the tournament with poor form as he registered 3 consecutive golden ducks against Australia in the recently concluded ODI series. However, now, the Indian cricket board has named him as one of the standby players for the Test Championship final.
