Virat Kohli is currently busy playing in the ongoing three-match ODI series against Australia. He was the highest run-scorer in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy for the Men in Blue. Fans were also happy to see him scoring a Test century after a long gap of 1205 days in the Ahmedabad Test.

So, fans were hoping for a better show in this ongoing series. But, Virat Kohli failed to score big in the series opener. In that match, he scored just four runs off nine balls. He was one of the four top-order wickets that Australia took in the first ten overs. India were in deep trouble while chasing 189 runs in Mumbai.

So, fans were not happy with such a performance from the veteran batter. Kohli has shown great form in both the white-ball formats since the last part of the last year. He was the highest run-scorer for team India in both the Asia Cup and the 20-20 World Cup in 2022. In the Asia Cup, he scored his maiden T20I ton against Afghanistan. Then, in the ODI series in Bangladesh, he put an end to the century draught in the ODI format. After that, he scored centuries in the home ODI series.

So, fans were hoping that Kohli will continue such form with the bat against the Aussies also. But, he failed again in the second ODI as Virat Kohli scored 31 runs off 35 balls, including four boundaries. Nathan Ellis took his wicket as he trapped him in front of the stumps. Kohli went for a flick shot and completely missed the ball that hit him on the pads. However, no other top-order batters also managed to score big as India lost half of their side within the first 10 overs. Finally, they got bundled out for just 117 runs in 26 overs.
