Jofra Archer often stays a point of discussion on social media as fans dig out his past posts as forecasts of future events. Jofra Archer was bought by the Mumbai franchise in the mega auction ahead of the Indian T20 League season 15. Mumbai paid a hefty price of 8 Cr INR to secure Archer's services in their squad. This selection from Mumbai raised some eyebrows of cricketing fans as the fast bowler has been out of action for a while owing to an elbow injury.
However, the Mumbai franchise's owner Akash Ambani clarified that they invested in Archer keeping the future in mind. In the owner’s words – “Jofra has been a player Mahela gave his first professional debut to and since then we have been thinking about them as a pair. So happy that we got them together. Although he is going to play next year, we are very happy to have Jofra and Bumrah make a lethal pair for our bowling attack," said Ambani after roping in Archer.
It was revealed that Archer will participate in the Indian T20 League 2023 but will not be available for the previous season. However, recently, speculations about Archer playing a part in the Indian T20 League 2022 went ripe, as the speedster shared a video of his bowling in the nets on Instagram.
