Despite not being available for the fifteenth edition of the Indian T20 league, Jofra Archer had still registered his name for the mega auction. It was earlier stated that the English pacer will be available to play the toughest 20 league from 2023. Yet, his name generated a lot of buzz.

Owing to his reputation and record in the shortest format of the game, several teams were still interested in getting him. Thus, they were willing to play with seven overseas players for the 2022 edition. Thus, when Archer's name popped up, several teams aggressively started to bid for him.

A bidding war between Rajasthan, Mumbai and Hyderabad ensured that the speedster ends up earning a fortune once again. As a matter of fact, even the auctioneer reminded all the teams about his plans for the next few editions of the league. Yet, teams didn't hesitate to go in pursuit of him.

At the end, it was Mumbai who managed to buy Archer. They spent a whopping amount of INR 8 crore in order to acquire his services. Thus, he is all set to bowl alongside Jasprit Bumrah.
