Ravindra Jadeja showed everyone why he is regarded as a beast in the IPL in the 1st Qualifier at the M Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The Saurashtra player brought his A-Game to the Chepauk and gave a match defining performance to the Chennai fans. With his valuable 22 off16 balls with the bat and game changing spell of 2-28 in four overs with the ball Chennai made it to yet another IPL final.
Jadeja in 15 matches has scored 175 runs with the bat for CSK. The left-armer has also picked up 19 wickets. When he picked up the Upstox most valuable player of the match he put out a funny tweet saying, Upstox knows but..some fans don’t. with a laughing emoji. He said this in a reference to the die -hard CSK fans who were waiting for Jadeja to get out quickly whenever he came to bat ahead of MS Dhoni. Jadeja also said in an interview that the fans were waiting for him to get out quickly so that they could see more of MS Dhoni.

Jadeja has also proved his worth in the field time and again with his wonderful reflexes and lightning-fast arm. The 34-year-old is so fast on his feet and has changed games with his electric fielding for both CSK and India. In the IPL Jadeja showed everyone his prowess as a youngster at Rajasthan Royals and then went on to become a polished diamond at CSK under MS Dhoni’s tutelage.
In the 2022 IPL, Jadeja was given the captaincy of CSK, but it did not bode well for the franchise as it affected his all-round game to the hilt. He had a very underwhelming season in 2022. He scored just 116 runs in 10 matches. The additional burden of captaincy did not help him as CSK finished ninth on the points table. Halfway through the season CSK sacked him as skipper and handed the reins back to MS Dhoni.
This did not please him one bit as he did not play all the games in 2022 IPL. This happened because of a feud between him and the management. In 2023 both the parties reconciled before the start of the season after MS Dhoni had a long chat with him.
