The stage was set at Arun Jaitley stadium as Delhi took Gujarat in the seventh match of the ongoing Indian T20 League. After losing the first match against Lucknow, the home side were looking for a win. On the other hand, Gujarat were looking for their second consecutive win of the season.

However, it was another treat for the fans as Rishabh Pant visited the stadium to watch the game. Fans were over the moon to see him at the stadium. Speaking of the match, Hardik Pandya won the toss and asked Delhi to bat first. However, Anrich Nortje came into the playing XI for Delhi while David Miller also came into the playing XI for Gujarat.

Meanwhile, while batting first, Delhi had a poor start again. Prithvi Shaw scored only seven runs and David Warner scored 37 runs off 32 balls. Fans were not happy with another slow inning from the Southpaw batter. Then, Sarfaraz Khan scored 30 runs off 34 balls and Axar Patel scored 36 runs off 22 balls. Other batters failed to score big as Delhi scored 162 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. For Gujarat, Mohammed Shami took three wickets for 41 runs while Rashid Khan took three wickets for 31 runs. Alzarri Joseph took two wickets with the ball also.

Then, for Delhi, Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha came out to open. But, both managed 14 runs each as Nortje breathed fire with his pace. Then, Pandya failed again for just five runs and in the first 10 overs, Gujarat managed 83 runs for three wickets. Then, Shankar scored 29 runs, and then, David Miller came out to bat. Sai Sudharsan remained not out on 62* runs while Miller scored 31* runs off 16 balls. Thus, they chased down the target in just 18.1 overs with six wickets in hand. Hence, Delhi suffered the second consecutive loss while Gujarat continued their winning momentum in this edition.
