Delhi franchise suffered their second loss of the inaugural season of the Women’s T20 League on 16 March 2023. The Gujarat franchise defeated them by 11 runs and after the loss, Delhi are now in the second spot with eight points from six games. However, now a video has gone viral where Sourav Ganguly was seen interacting with players and staff.
Recently, Delhi announced that Sourav Ganguly will be their Director of Cricket for the upcoming season of the Indian T20 League. However, he also worked previously with the franchise in the tournament in 2019. After that, he served on the Indian Cricket Board for three years as the Board president.

After getting appointed by the Delhi franchise, Sourav Ganguly was happy and shared his views in a recent interaction. He said: “I’m excited to be back with the Delhi franchise. My association with the women’s team, and the Pretoria Capitals over the last few months has been fantastic, and I’m looking forward to the upcoming season of the Indian T20 League. Delhi had done well as a team during my last stint with them. I’ve already been involved with the players this time around, and I’m keen to see them as a group. Hopefully, we will all have a great time over the next couple of months.”
Speaking of the video, Ganguly was seen talking with players and staff. Some images were clicked also with several players also. Delhi also shared the video on their official Twitter account with a caption: “When Dada met our tigresses, the #CapitalsUniverse went Glimpses of this inspirational meet-up that we could watch on #YehHaiNayiDilli #TATAWPL @SGanguly99”. Meanwhile, Delhi will be in action again in the Women’s T20 League on 20 March when they will take on Mumbai. Seeing that video, some fans went crazy and claimed that Ganguly might have brought bad luck. As a result, they lost the last match and now they can bottle the whole tournament despite being in such a strong position.
