“Delhi had done well as a team during my last stint with them.” - Sourav Ganguly

Speaking about the appointment, Sourav Ganguly said: "I’m excited to be back with the Delhi franchise. My association with the women’s team, and the Pretoria Capitals over the last few months has been fantastic, and I’m looking forward to the upcoming season of the Indian T20 League. Delhi had done well as a team during my last stint with them.”

"I’ve already been involved with the players this time around, and I’m keen to see them as a group. Hopefully, we will all have a great time over the next couple of months," Ganguly concluded. But, some fans came up and claimed that he might ruin the team as he did with team India during his tenure as the Indian Cricket Board’s president. On the other hand, Delhi will miss Rishabh Pant as their skipper in this upcoming season as he is currently recovering from the injuries he has due to the fatal road accident. Hence, Ganguly shared his views on the Indian wicketkeeper in a recent interaction.

While speaking to India Today, Sourav Ganguly said: "I have not spoken to him. I wish him a quick recovery. He is a young boy. He is just 23. He has got enough time to come back. This (who would be his replacement) is not yet decided. We will decide after the camp."
