The Indian Cricket Board has announced the squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka. Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya is set to lead the team in the absence of regular skipper Rohit Sharma who will return to international cricket in the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka.

The World number one T20I batter and star Indian batting sensation Suryakumar Yadav will be the role of Hardik’s deputy. Apart from that, a few big names including the likes of Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah will also be missing from the T20I series against Sri Lanka.

Although what raised the eyebrows of the cricket fans was the ignorance of Indian team management towards the young leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi while picking the squad. The fans didn’t take it easy and lashed out at the management. Subsequently, the fans also compared Ravi Bishnoi’s case to what has happened with Mumbai batter Prithvi Shaw in the past.

Following the conclusion of the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka on the 15th of January 2023, Rohit Sharma’s men will lock horns in a three-match home ODI series against New Zealand starting from the 18th of January 2023.

Following the conclusion of the three-match ODI series against New Zealand, the Indian team will take on the same opponent in a three-match T20I series which will start on the 27th of January 2023.

Notably, team India recently faced a humiliating defeat against Bangladesh in the three-match ODI series against the lower-ranked team like Bangladesh. The hosts managed to outclass the men in blue by a margin of 2-1 with two consecutive wins in the first and second ODI.
