Despite having a decent squad on paper, KKR haven’t been able to make their presence felt in the tournament. They have lost five of their seven games and are on the verge of an early exit from the IPL 2021. Neither their batsmen nor their bowlers have made any sort of impact. They will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in their next game. RCB have been hot and cold in the season. They have a few magnificent victories but also a couple of poor losses.

They boast of a powerful batting lineup in Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal, Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers. While Maxwell and De Villiers have been pretty good, Kohli and Padikkal have been inconsistent. In both the matches that RCB lost, Kohli, De Villiers and Maxwell failed to score thus if the opposition can get rid of these players for not much, they’ll be on top. However, it won’t be easy though.

Pitch Report - The match will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The wicket so far has played in favour of the batsmen. Teams have consistently got big runs thus another high scoring encounter is on the cards.

Kolkata Knight Riders

Nothing seems to be working for KKR at the moment. Their batting is looking very shaky. However, they don’t have much quality in the dugout either. Maybe, they can think about bringing in Shakib al Hasan in place of Narine to strengthen their batting.

Nitish Rana

Rana stroked back to back half-centuries in the first two matches of IPL 2021. However, he ran out of gas in the last few games. Despite his lack of runs, he is still one of the best batsmen for KKR.

Probable XI

Shubman Gill, Nitish Rana, Rahul Tripathi, Sunil Narine/Shakib al Hasan, Eoin Morgan (c), Andre Russell, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Pat Cummins, Shivam Mavi, Prasidh Krishna, Varun Chakravarthy

Team News

Royal Challengers Bangalore have given enough opportunity to Rajat Patidar and we may see Kohli swapping him with someone like Mohammed Azharuddeen in the next game.

X-Factor

AB de Villiers

AB de Villiers has been top class in the IPL 2021 and has scored 207 runs at an average of 51 and a strike rate of 164. Atleast two of RCB's five wins were because of AB de Villiers. He is someone who can win the games from the most hopeless situations thus RCB rely a lot on him.

Probable XI

Virat Kohli (c), Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar/Mohammed Azharuddeen, Glenn Maxwell, AB de Villiers (wk), Shahbaz Ahmed, Daniel Sams, Kyle Jamieson, Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal
