IPL 2021: Match 24 – MI vs RR – Preview, Playing XI, Pitch Report & Updates

We are heading towards the halfway mark in the IPL 2021 and Mumbai Indians will be slightly worried about where they stand at the moment. They won’t mind the three losses but they’ll be concerned that neither of their batsmen is in any sort of form. They’ll need to turn things around quickly as they wouldn't want to be left too far behind. Rohit Sharma surprisingly is not playing his natural game and that is hurting Mumbai.

Maybe, he is trying to bat through the innings but it’s not working. He needs to play his natural game and look to give Mumbai Indians a brisk start. Also, Mumbai Indians should look at Chris Lynn as Quinton de Kock is looking completely out of touch. If Mumbai can get a good start, most things will automatically fall in place. The bowling is Mumbai’s biggest strength and the bowlers have done the job pretty well.

Talking about Rajasthan, even though they won their last game, things are not looking good for them. The batting has struggled and the bowlers have been ordinary too. Also, they are struggling with a lack of options as several of their overseas players are either ruled out due to injury or have pulled out of the tournament. It will need a mammoth effort from them to get past Mumbai.

Pitch Report - The surface is expected to be a decent wicket to bat. It might get slower in the second innings which will make chasing slightly difficult.

Team News

Mumbai Indians

We don’t think Mumbai will be keen on making any changes but they can think about giving Chris Lynn a chance as Quinton de Kock hasn’t looked at his best.

X-factor

Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah has a fantastic record against Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson, two of the best Rajasthan batsmen. If he can get both of them for not much, it’s job done for Mumbai

Probable XI

Quinton de Kock (wk)/Chris Lynn, Rohit Sharma (c), Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Jayant Yadav, Rahul Chahar, Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult

Team News

Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals can think about bringing in Shreyas Gopal in place of one of the pacer. An extra spin option will give a lot more variety in the bowling department.

X-factor

Sanju Samson

Samson has been quiet since his hundred in the first game. But he is still their best player and as a skipper would love to lead from the front and take his team to a victory.

Probable XI

Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson (c/wk), Shivam Dube, David Miller, Riyan Parag, Rahul Tewatia, Chris Morris, Shreyas Gopal/Jaydev Unadkat, Mustafizur Rahman, Chetan Sakariya
