KL Rahul has been in the headlines for the last few months based on his performances for the Men in Blue across all three formats. Fans were not happy at all with his recent performances, especially in the home series against Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and Australia. Now, he will be in action for the Lucknow franchise in the Indian T20 League 2023.
However, he has been performing constantly in this rich-vein league for the last five seasons. KL Rahul has scored 500+ runs in every last five seasons. But, his strike rate has been an issue as fans have always criticised him for it. In the 2018 season, he scored 659 runs in 14 matches, at an average of 54.91 and a strike rate of 158.41.

In the following season, the current Lucknow skipper scored 670 runs in 14 games, at an average of 55.83 and a strike rate of 129.34. After that, in the 2021 season, KL Rahul scored 626 runs in 13 matches, at an average of 62.60 and a strike rate of 138.80. In the last edition, he smashed 616 runs in 15 matches, at an average of 51.33 and a strike rate of 135.38.
In all these five seasons, Rahul smacked four centuries and 27 fifties. So, his stats have shown great consistency in this tournament. But, his strike rate has decreased over the years as it was more than 150 during the 2018 season. So, fans have always blamed him to play slow innings while opening the innings for his franchises. Seeing the astonishing numbers from this star team India batter, fans came and claimed that it is not useful at all as it has not helped him to perform on the biggest stage for the Men in Blue.
