To add more, the Mumbai franchise have three overseas slots left and it remains to be seen if they would go all out for the English allrounder Sam Curran. Given that they own a franchise named MI Cape Town in the SA20 League, South Africa’s very own new cricket tournament, they might as well target players from that squad as well.

As things stand, let us take a look at three players whom the Mumbai franchise might target from their MI Cape Town squad:

1) Duan Jansen

Duan Jansen is an upcoming South African sensation and the player was drafted into the team during the auction for the inaugural edition of the SA20 League. Jansen could rattle the batters on his given day and the pacer has already impressed the scouts, on the back of which, he was eventually brought into the Cape Town franchise.

As things stand, the left-arm pacer has gathered 20 wickets in the T20 format so far and he could as well make a cut to the Mumbai squad for the upcoming edition of the Indian T20 League. Given that the Mumbai camp are well aware of the player’s potential, it would be no surprise if he makes it to the squad through the mini-auction.

2) Odean Smith

Odean Smith, the star cricketer from West Indies, was roped into the MI Cape Town squad and given that his bowling skills are already proven, the Caribbean star might as well make it to the Mumbai squad through the mini-auction of the Indian T20 League set to take place in December.

In addition to his bowling skills, Smith is also known for his allrounding prowess, as he could take down the opposition bowlers single-handedly and could contribute 20-odd runs in quick succession. If at all the Mumbai team manage to rope him from the auction, it would be a big win for them.

3) Sam Curran

Sam Curran was the most surprising signing for the MI Cape Town franchise and the fans crazy when they got to know of the news. As one could know, the left-arm pacer was the best-performing allrounder for England in the recently concluded 20-20 World Cup 2022 and played a vital role in helping the team to lift the trophy.

Eventually, Curran might end up as the hot buy in the auction and many predict that he might find himself playing for the Chennai franchise in the next edition. However, Mumbai think tank are known for spoiling the party and they might come and rope in the player in the mini-auction.
