The seventh game between Lucknow and Chennai saw a lot of sixes. The fans couldn't have asked for a better game as this high-scoring thriller was an absolute blockbuster. During the first innings, Chennai's top-order showed no mercy as they took the aggressive route early on. Robin Uthappa was absolutely sensational as he got to a fifty in just 27 calls. That wasn't it as Moeen Ali and Shivam Dube continued the mayhem.
The all-rounder scored a superb 49 and was unlucky to miss out on a half-century. Nevertheless, almost all of Chennai's batters had vital contributions to ensure that they score in access of 200. MS Dhoni continued his good form as his six-ball 16 enabled the yellow army to 210.
Lucknow's openers were up to the challenge as they put together a 99-run partnership. It was Quinton de Kock who scored a half-century. However, the KL Rahul-led side had to continuously play the big shots as their target was a huge one and they couldn't afford to play out any bowler. As far as Chennai's bowlers are concerned, then Dwaine Pretorius was superb as he picked two wickets, and looked impressive in his debut Indian T20 league game.
At the end, Evin Lewis seemed like a man on a mission as he kept on flexing his muscles without breaking a sweat. His unbeaten 55 from just 23 balls ensured that Lucknow win their first game in the Indian T20 league. At the end, Lucknow won with three balls to spare.
