Lucknow and Rajasthan played each other at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Rajasthan needed to win the game to set closer to the playoffs. Skipper Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal kept scoring quickly even after losing the early wicket. The duo stitched a partnership of 61 runs before the former got out on 32 off 24 including six fours. Jaiswal, who scored 41 off 29 balls including six fours and a six before returning to pavilion in the 12th over. Davdutt Padikkal, who came into bat after Samson's wicket, scored 39 off 18 balls before departing to Ravi Bishnoi. The team's scoring rate decreased after the wicket.

However, the likes of Trent Boult (17*) and Ravichandran Ashwin (10*) took the team to 178/6. For Lucknow, Bishnoi took two wickets while the likes of Avesh Khan, Jason Holder, and Ayush Badoni took one each. Not to forget, skipper Rahul utilized eight bowling options. In reply, the Men In Mint Green lost three wickets in the powerplay. Quniton de Kock and Ayush Badoni got out to Boult while Rahul was dismissed by Prasidh Krishna.

Deepak Hooda and Krunal Pandya took the team from 29/3 to 94 runs. Pandya was caught brilliantly by the pair of Buttler and Riyan Parag on the straight boundary. In-form Hooda, who scored 59 off 39 balls including five fours and two sixes was stumped by Samson, which was a bizarre dismissal after looking at the replays. This wicket brought a mini-collapse as the team went from 116/4 to 120/7.

The likes of Mohsin Khan (9*) and Marcus Stoinis (27) tried to take the team close but the latter was dismissed in the last over. The team went on to lose the game by 24 runs. With this win, the Men In Pink have reached the second spot in the points table with 16 points.
