India is all set to take on the world in the 20-20 World Cup 2022. The Men in Blue will begin their campaign against Pakistan on October 23 at Melbourne Cricket Ground. With regards to the squad, the Indian team will play with a pretty strong squad. However, former India cricketer and commentator Aakash Chopra had other ideas.

On his YouTube channel, Chopra said that the Indian team is one pacer shot and felt that they must have dropped a spinner to get in one more speedster. For the unversed, the Indian cricket board confirmed the lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah’s ruling out on October 3, Monday. While the replacement for the injured star is yet to be announced, Chopra felt India should have Mohammed Shami in the squad. Further, he highlighted the importance of having Deepak Chahar on Australian surfaces.

India must add two fast bowlers to the squad for the World Cup. One should be someone who has speed and he is Mohammad Shami. The other bowler should be someone who has swing and he is Deepak Chahar. Take five fast bowlers, exclude one spinner, as the matches will be in Australia where pitches assist pace bowling rather than spin. You needn’t take any permission for changes to the squad till 15th October,” said Chopra on his YouTube channel.

After the loss against South Africa in the third T20I on Tuesday, Rohit said that the team needs a lot of amelioration. Further, the Indian skipper admitted that India lagged behind in death bowling and hoped to address it before the start of the 20-20 World Cup.

“As a team we said at the beginning, no matter what happens with the result - there's always room for improvement. We want to keep getting better as a team. Teams have been quite challenging, they can challenge in all departments. Something we have been talking about at length. We need to look at lot of things. Surya's form is a concern (laughs). We need to work on our bowling. We played against two quality sides, we came across tough challenges,” Rohit said in the post-match interview after the third T20I against the Proteas

"Bumrah is out of the World Cup, so we need to find a bowler who has the experience of bowling in Australia. Not sure who that bowler is going to be, we will see once we travel to Australia, we'll find it out there,” he added further.
